About

Welcome to the Quantitative Fisheries Lab at North Carolina State University’s Department of Applied Ecology. We lead research, extension and education programs aimed at understanding and managing marine fish and invertebrates populations in North Carolina and worldwide. Located along the Crystal Coast at the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology in Morehead City, we work closely with state and federal agencies to support sustainable fisheries. Research in the Quantitative Fisheries Lab takes an ecologically-motivated, statistically-innovative, management-focused, and interdisciplinary approach to the study of fish and invertebrate population dynamics. Members of the lab pursue questions related to stock assessment, management strategy evaluation, species distribution shift, and the influence of climate change on fish population dynamics.
